7. The reasons why there was a delay before Live Aid
The band never experienced any sort of break-up in real life. However, the movie shows us something different. The point was to make Mercury slightly different from what the movie producers would like him to be. Mercury was diagnosed with AIDS. In real life he was still performing and singing songs, playing on stage and participating in his band’s life. In the movie we see that Freddie is not as active.

Whether you consider it a lie or just the movie maker’s fantasy, in the movie Freddie Mercury finds about his health issue when he was focused on his solo album. We also see that Live Aid show is arranged not before but after that. Before the performance Mercury tells the sad news to his band mates. All guys provide support and assistance. In reality Mercury had no idea about his AIDS diagnosis till late 1980’s. And the Live Aid performance was organized two years earlier.
