
1. Eye Contact
There is one thing that can improve your connection with people and that is eye contact. Maintain eye contact and people will be more attentive to what you say to them. More than that, as a speaker, you should know that people have to be made to feel what you are saying. Each part of your audience matters. So establish eye contact with each section. Control the whole presentation and let people remain attentive throughout your entire speech.
2. Prosody
Poetry draws our attention and it’s easy to explain why. There is prosody – a stylistic technique that poets use to set rhythm and pattern. In public speeches prosody can also be used. Consider it if you wish to be heard and understood by your audience. Do not overdo it. But from time to time prosody can make your tone less monotonous.
