5 Artificially Created Islands You Must Know Of

3. The THUMS Islands
San Pedro Bay offers you to visit a chain of 4 artificial islands. They are located in California, close to the coast of Long Beach. The islands were built in the mid-1960’s. There are a lot of interesting things to see like significant landscaping or a waterfall. The most popular islands of the entire set are Freeman Island and Island Grissom.

4. Thilafushi
If you wish to know what paradise looks like, you should go to the Maldives. That’s an absolutely fantastic republic where you can enjoy the sun and good weather all year long. You will be taken to Thilafushi – an artificially created island. Its history starts in the early 1990’s, when the area was used as a landfill. Later on it was turned into an industrial spot.
