How to Make Your Eating at a Buffet Healthy

Healthy eating can be done even at a buffet. Your menu should be full of foods that are rich in nutrients. At a buffet people should control their portions and make the right choices.

1. Your location matters a lot. It’s great if you can find a place far away from the buffet. On average, you make three trips to pick the food. If you sit at a table far from the buffet, then it will be less tempting for you. If the place you are attending has hostesses, ask the staff if you can be offered a place far away from the buffet. When at an event like a birthday party or a ceremony like a wedding, then choose a chair on the opposite side of the room.

2. Another way to avoid the temptation is to keep your back toward the buffet station. This trick works very well if you cannot be seated far away from the buffet. People who seat themselves facing the opposite direction are less likely to feel like standing up and going to pick another serving. When you cannot see the food, you can focus on other things: the music, people surrounding you, the event itself and communication.
